As years go by, your roof goes through regular wear and tear. While eventually needing replacement, there are still several things you can to help prolong life of your roof.

Check for Normal Wear and Tear

While roofs naturally wear out, there may be times where slight damage that can be easily fixed without replacing the whole roof. Several times a year, take the time to inspect your roof yourself (or professionally) for any issues. Having these issues immediately repaired can also cut down on costs!

Maintain Gutters

Gutters being properly taken care of and installed is very important the roof to properly drain, and remove water during rainstorms. Check that gutters are properly installed, and secure. It is also a good idea to semi-annually clean them for the best drainage possible.

Check for Storm Damage

After storms, check for any obvious damage that it could have been caused. This includes missing shingles, damaged shingles, or any flashing that has come loose from the roof.

Keep Your Roof Clean

Debris on your roof can cause extra stress and can cause issues. Keep an eye out to make sure there is not any buildup of limbs or leaves. These items on the roof for long amounts of time can also cause mold or mildew to begin growing, and erosion.
