#TeamElkins Hurricane Relief
Knowing hurricane season was coming upon us, #TeamElkins put together a group of men and women who would be our Storm team during this time with them knowing there was a chance we would have to travel to help clean up from damage. During mid-September, we started getting weather alerts about several hurricanes hitting the coast. We got ready and were waiting when Hurricane Florence went through. We had many of our employees there, when another storm showed up on the radar: Hurricane Michael. After Michael hit, we started seeing videos and photos come through of all the damage, and knew we needed to step up and help. We sent a crew to Mexico Beach, Florida. There were no other words to describe what they saw but complete chaos. They said it looked and felt like a bomb had went off in the area. There was no cellular service, hardly anywhere to get food, and the roads were all almost closed.
While our crews are now back home, there is still a lot of clean up that is being done. It will take years for this town to bounce back to its potential.
